Thoughts, Quips, and Aphorisms—Part 15

Just as wind reveals itself in the movement of branches, the spirits reveal themselves in the movements of children. Christianity™ ignores the Gadianton problem. This always drove me crazy, before I’d ever even heard the term. The sky is feeling blue today, so be extra kind homies swear the hardest (I suspect most of you didn’t get that last one) I think the Book of Mormon took place in the American heartland because when I read it, and when I drive through it… same energy. gods above gods below gods without gods within gods who love gods who know gods who pout gods who sin In South Dakota the stars not only fill the sky but cover the rocks beneath your feet. The latter sparkles at day, the former at night. All goodness in this life is but a candle flame in the dark. It can give us hope, but it can never repel the all darkness. I asked God for a sign He gave me a million The stars above, the moon, the sun I asked God for a sign He gave me a million So I asked for a million and one God bless my friends Those that I know And those that I have yet to meet Any writer trying to get into a flow state should consider writing in cursive. Seems kind of obvious, in hindsight. Heavenly Father You have so many gods Can you not spare one? If you’re waiting for the end of the world to come, you’re not paying attention. I find it interesting that coffee and tobacco pair so perfectly, and so does coffee and a pastry, but tobacco and pastries? Not so much. I relate most to the coffee in this story. Wanna make God laugh? Tell him a good joke. The Book of Mormon was hidden underground for many centuries, but now it hides in plain sight from all who deride and mock it. God protects his treasures, one way or another. It is an act of faith to believe in anything outside of yourself. Last thing I remember, I was 4 and cracking open acorns between rocks, and now I’m 40. Not sure what happened. Just because you’re an unhinged lunatic doesn’t mean you’re wrong Instead of writing what I know, I prefer to write only about the things I know nothing about, which lets me write about pretty much anything.

Most of my best thoughts were written in cursive.
F-ck swearing.
All my homes hate swearing!
