Some of you are old enough to remember long, long ago, in the before time, when instead scrolling smart phones at every idle moment, you would be thrilled to pick up a magazine. That’s right, a magazine. When a book was too big of a commitment but you wanted to inject some excitement into your life. Obviously no sane person would read a magazine today…
“Those corporate mind control pamphlets? You’re crazy. I get my corporate mind control on the internet, man.”
True enough, friend, but I’m not talking about those. Not today. Hypnagothic is the name, and if you want to know what it means, look up hypnagogic, and gothic, or convert the letters to numbers and do some sort of numerology. Or better yet, pray to your guardian angel to reveal the mystery to you. If all of that fails, read this, from Laeth himself, the one who has just put out the third issue of the magazine.
So what is it, anyway? These are curated short story collections from different authors, myself included, and each issue with its own theme. You can order a sweet copy, and they are sweet, or print your own for free. This is not a money making venture. It’s about sharing art and having something nice on your coffee table so anyone can pick it up and enter a new world.
The hope is that it inspires you to do the same, or create something different altogether. The gatekeepers remain in the world but the walls between the gates are crumbling. Now, more than ever, you can just do things.
thank you Sean :)
